Shovel Ready

Brightline West will be America’s first true high-speed passenger rail system. The modern, eco-friendly system will redefine train travel in America and connect two of our most iconic destinations Las Vegas and Southern California.

This 218-mile passenger rail service is being built by Brightline West from Las Vegas to San Bernardino, California, operating 95% of its future alignment within the median of the I-15 highway corridor. Brightline West will run all-electric trains capable of reaching top speeds of 200 miles per hour and provide riders an estimated trip time of 2 hours 10 minutes. Brightline West will offer flexible and reliable service including hourly departure intervals in each direction.

Brightline West proposed train routes

Today, about 50 million annual trips occur between Los Angeles and Las Vegas– over 85% of them by car, a trip which is unpredictable, unreliable and challenged by congestion. Brightline West is projected to grow to more than 11 million trips annually.

The project is shovel ready and expected to break ground in the second half of 2023.
