    Civil Construction

The civil work encompasses all foundational infrastructure required before track installation and electrification can begin. This includes highway improvements, drainage systems, utility relocations, bridges, and retaining walls. Brightline West has divided the civil construction for the project into four distinct segments.

    .

    Nevada

The Nevada civil construction segment spans 34 miles, extending from the Las Vegas station to the Nevada–California state line. This segment features a combination of construction within the I-15 median and along the eastbound side of the highway. It also includes the critical connection to the Vehicle Maintenance Facility located near Sloan Road, supporting the overall operation and maintenance of the Brightline West system.

    California North

The California North civil construction segment spans approximately 110 miles from the Nevada–California state line to Barstow, California—making it the longest segment of the project. Entirely located within the median of I-15, this stretch is a critical component of the Brightline West corridor.

    .

    California Middle

The California Middle segment covers the 39-mile stretch between Barstow and Hesperia. This segment includes a mix of rural and urban construction through Barstow and the Victor Valley and features one of the project’s signature structures—the 3,800-foot-long Barstow Viaduct. This engineering landmark will play a key role in connecting communities while showcasing the scale and innovation behind Brightline West.

    California South

The California South segment spans 34 miles from Hesperia to Rancho Cucamonga. This portion of the corridor includes construction through the mountainous terrain of Cajon Pass while hugging the northbound median, followed by integration into the dense urban environment of Rancho Cucamonga.

Once the civil work is completed and handed over by each contractor, Brightline West’s system and track contractor will begin installing the tracks and all necessary equipment to operate and power the trains. This phase includes laying track, implementing signaling and control systems, installing the overhead catenary system, and building electrical substations to supply power. Following the completion of these installations, train testing will commence to ensure safety and performance.

    Stations

Brightline West will have four stations including two flagship stations in Las Vegas and Southern California.

    .

    Las Vegas Station

Located at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip near the I-15/I-215 interchange, the Brightline West Las Vegas station will serve as a modern gateway to the Las Vegas Strip. The station will feature a sleek, contemporary building with spacious, Wi-Fi-enabled lounges designed for comfort and convenience. A large pick-up and drop-off area will provide seamless connections to Las Vegas' iconic resorts, entertainment venues, and surrounding communities.

    .

    Southern California Station

Brightline West’s Southern California station will be located in Rancho Cucamonga, near Milliken Avenue and Azusa Court. The elevated platforms will rise above existing regional rail tracks, enabling seamless connectivity to the greater Southern California region via Metrolink’s San Bernardino Line. In addition to offering stunning views of the San Gabriel Mountains, the elevated station will reflect the same world-class design and premium experience featured at our flagship Las Vegas station. To accommodate riders who prefer driving to the station, Brightline West will be building nearly 4,000 spaces in an adjacent parking structure.

    .

    Victor Valley Station

Situated in Apple Valley near the interchange of Dale Evans Parkway and I-15, this station will serve as Brightline West’s vital connection to the High Desert communities. Designed with all the key features of our Las Vegas and Southern California stations—on a more compact scale—it will offer modern amenities and convenient access for local travelers.
